Notre Dame Head Coach Brian Kelly has made no mistake about how he wants recruiting to go for the Irish. He calls the kids he wants "RKG's," which sounds like some kind of war reference, but stands for the Right Kind of Guys. He has made no apologies for not landing the high profile five star recruits that ex-Head man Charlie Weis reeled in.
Kelly and company are now up to 16 RKG's for the 2011 class, and have received 4 verbal commitments in the past two days. Make no mistake about it, all four players are a fit for what Kelly wants in his retuned team. Here's a look at the four most recent pledges for the Irish.
- RB Justice Hayes
I've had the pleasure of covering Justice for a few years now, and he definitely fits what Notre Dame needs in a running back. He's quick, good hands, good size, and has great feet. He's versatile enough that he can be used in a variety of ways in Kelly's spread offense. Notre Dame will lose four running backs after this year, including Armando Allen. Jonas Gray will be a senior, for Hayes' first year on campus, and Cierre Wood will be a junior. This pick up was crucial for depth, but also making the transition into what Kelly and his offense need in a back. Great pick up.

- DE Anthony Rabasa
I've always felt Rabasa was a little underrated as a three star (Rivals.com rating). He held around 21 offers from teams that included the hometown trio of Florida, FSU, and Miami. He's not a huge defensive end, but he has a nice frame to add some size to, and has a ton of potential. His film is a little hard to judge how he'll make the transition to the next level, because it rarely looks like he's ever being blocked. That could be because he has an excellent step of the snap, but the Irish will find out soon enough. If Rabasa can add a little weight for his senior year, and show he can maintain his quickness of the edge, I think he might see his rankings go up. Defensive end was definitely a position of need for the Irish, so this is a fantastic pick up.

- DE Aaron Lynch
Lynch named Notre Dame his leader a couple weeks ago, and made his decision yesterday. If Rabasa was a nice pull for Notre Dame out of Florida, Lynch is a monster steal for Brian Kelly. Lynch is a 6-foot-6, 245-pound end with an outstanding grasp of his position, and held offers from Alabama, Florida, FSU, Miami, and Ohio State among others. As I said previously, defensive end was a position of need for Notre Dame, and Lynch fills a huge gap for the Irish. He's explosive off the ball, and because of his size could make an immediate impact on defense.
- CB Jalen Brown
Kelly continues to fill positions of need with the pick up of Jalen Brown. Depth will be somewhat of an issue once Brown is on campus, so it helps to secure a corner early in the process like this. Notre Dame also has 4 star defensive back Eilar Hardy out of Pickerington, Ohio in this class. Both prospects are about the same size at 6-foot, and 170-pounds. Eilar is the more flashy prospect, but I think Brown is a smart player that could do well with a year or two under the Notre Dame defensive coaching staff. 2010 defensive back commit Spencer Boyd has decided to transfer closer to home, so Notre Dame needed these two prospects, and getting them early was a bonus.
